Selling a Brand Without Brand Registry Protection

Without Brand Registry, a brand can be hard to protect and hard to present on Amazon. These are the problems brand owners face again and again:• Other sellers or counterfeits listing on or under your brand, with no strong tools to act• No access to A+ Content, Sponsored Brands and video, or a Brand Store, so your listings look weaker than enrolled competitors• Application rejected because the trademark owner name, mark text or status does not match what Amazon expects• The brand name on your products and packaging does not exactly match your trademark, so enrolment stalls• Stuck at the verification step because the code goes to the trademark contact or attorney on record• Products live on Amazon but not attributed to your brand, so brand tools do not unlock• Enrolment done in one marketplace but the brand sells in several• No trademark yet, and no clear route from filing to Brand Registry

Eligibility & How Brand Registry Works

Brand Registry enrolment is handled in a clear order: Amazon’s requirements come first, and the application must match them exactly. Small mismatches are the most common reason applications stall or are rejected. The cards below set out what Amazon requires, and what to do if you do not have a trademark yet. Enrolment and every enforcement outcome remain Amazon’s decision.

What Amazon Requires

1

A Trademark Is Required

Brand Registry requires a trademark: an active registered trademark, or a pending application, filed with an eligible government trademark office, such as the USPTO.
2

Mark Text Must Match

The trademark text must match the brand name used on your products and packaging exactly. Even a small difference can stall or reject an application.
3

Owner or Authorised Applicant

The applicant must be the trademark owner, or an authorised party with the right documentation to act for the owner.
4

Verification Code Step

Amazon sends a verification code to the contact on the trademark record. That step must be completed before enrolment can go ahead.
5

Brand–ASIN Attribution

Once enrolled, your ASINs must be correctly attributed to the brand for the brand tools to apply to your products.
6

Amazon Decides

Enrolment and every enforcement outcome remain Amazon’s decision. No service can guarantee approval or a particular enforcement result.
7

No Trademark Yet? Start There

A trademark application comes first. Our Trademark Registration service prepares and files it with a US attorney, and a pending application can usually be used to apply for Brand Registry while registration completes.

Our Amazon Brand Registry Services

1

Brand Registry Eligibility Check

We check your trademark status, owner details and brand name against Amazon’s requirements before you apply, so mismatches are caught early.
2

Trademark Readiness Review

Your mark text, owner details, status and classes are checked against Amazon’s requirements before applying, so the application is built on accurate details.
3

Application Preparation & Submission Support

We prepare the application with the correct brand and trademark details and support you through submission, in Amazon’s expected format.
4

Verification & Documentation Support

We help with the product and packaging images and documents Amazon requests, and guide you through completing the verification-code step.
5

Brand–ASIN Attribution Fixes

We fix products that are not correctly linked to your brand, so A+ Content and reporting unlock for the right ASINs.
6

Multi-Marketplace Brand Enrolment

We help enrol the same brand across the marketplaces you sell in, so protection and brand tools are not limited to one marketplace.
7

Brand Tools Setup Guidance

We explain what enrolment unlocks — A+ Content, Sponsored Brands and video, a Brand Store, Brand Analytics and Vine eligibility — and how to start using each one.
8

Brand Protection Setup & Reporting Guidance

We set up the Report a Violation workflow and explain the evidence standards for honest reporting. False or abusive reports can harm your brand’s own standing.
9

Application Rejection Review & Resubmission

We read Amazon’s reason for a rejection, fix the mismatch behind it and apply again properly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a registered trademark, or is a pending application enough?

In the US and many other eligible offices, a pending application is enough to apply. The mark must be a text or eligible design mark filed with an office Amazon accepts, and Amazon makes the final enrolment decision.

With the trademark application itself. Our Trademark Registration service handles filing with a US attorney, and once filed we can usually proceed to Brand Registry on the pending application.

It is usually a detail mismatch: the owner name, mark text or trademark status, or the brand name on packaging not matching the mark. We review Amazon's reason, fix the mismatch and resubmit.

It varies with Amazon's review and the verification step. Many applications complete in days once verified, and some take longer. No fixed timeline can be promised.

A+ Content, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored video formats, a Brand Store, Brand Analytics, Vine eligibility, and protection tools such as Report a Violation. Some features have their own additional requirements or fees, for example Vine.

No tool stops everything. Enrolment gives you the reporting and protection tools, and Amazon decides each enforcement case. Used properly, it makes acting on infringement far faster and more effective.
